How to connect your Instagram account

SUPER IMPORTANT: Before you start, to be able to connect your Instagram account to Splasheo, you MUST have the following:

1. An Instagram Business profile/account (learn how to convert your Personal profile to a Business profile here).
2. Your Instagram Business profile/account connected to your Facebook page (learn how to connect your Business profile to your Facebook page here).

You’ll need to make sure you have the above 2 things setup first before continuing with the rest of this tutorial.

Changing over your Instagram profile/account to a Business profile/account won't affect your day-to-day use of your account. See here for more information on the benefits of switching to an Instagram business profile.

Note: You need to have a Facebook Admin or Editor Page role in you Facebook account to make all this work.

Add your Instagram Business profile/account

We recommend you use Desktop for this setup - it's just easier. Once it's setup on Desktop, it should work on mobile as well. The process on Mobile will be very similar, except it will on a much smaller screen ;)

1. Make sure you are logged into the Facebook and Instagram accounts you want to connect to Splasheo.
2. Log into your Splasheo account at www.splasheo.com (top right).

3. Go to the Connected apps page inside your account.

   
   

   

4. Click on the “Connect” button next to Instagram.

   
   

   

5. On the Facebook popup on the next page, click on the Continue button to connect your Facebook account (I know... it's weird that you have to do this via Facebook, but trust me on this one ;) ).

   
   

   

6. Select the Instagram Business account you want to connect to Splasheo, and then click on the Next button.

   
   

   

   
   

7. Select which Pages you want to use with Splasheo, and then click on the Next button.

   
   

   

8. Make sure all the options on the following page is selected, and then click on the Done button. We need these permissions to be able to post to your Instagram account.

   
   

   

9. You'll then get a confirmation message from Facebook saying you have successfully linked the Splasheo App to your Facebook and Instagram accounts. Hit the OK button to finish if off!

10. You'll get redirected to the Connected apps page on Splasheo, and the button next to Instagram should now to green and say "Connected".

    
    

    

11. You can then go back to the Dashboard, select the video you want to publish to Instagram, and go through the process.

    
    

    

That's it!

Your Facebook/Instagram account should now stay connected so that you can seamlessly publish your Splasheo produced videos straight to Instagram Reels.

From time to time, your accounts might get disconnected again. Whenever that happens, just go through the above process again to connect your account.
